Iemoto Naohiro Kasuya
4th Headmaster of Ichiyo School
The Ichiyo School of Ikebana was founded in 1937 in Tokyo and is led today by the school’s 4th Headmaster, or Iemoto, Naohiro Kasuya. Iemoto Kasuya was taught by his grandfather and father since childhood and today teaches and performs live ikebana exhibitions in Japan and around the world. Ichiyo means “one leaf” in Japanese and refers to the school’s logo.
Born in 1980, Iemoto Naohiro has performed in solo exhibitions, ikebana exhibitions and live performances in Japan and throughout the world. His works have been featured in movies and TV dramas and he has collaborated with artists from other fields. His workshops and live performances have taken place in Belgium, Singapore, France, Australia, India, the United States, China, New Zealand, South Africa and Ukraine.
He also serves as Director of the Japan Ikebana Arts Association and is a Counselor of the Ikebana Association. Iemoto Naohiro is seeking to raise awareness of Japanese culture and further develop the art of flower arrangement in order to pass on the culture of ikebana to future generations.
